Joshua Farrell

I have been a metal sculptor and multiple medium artist for over 30 years.  From a young age I have studied art, created a style and artistic identity of my own. My techniques are self-taught and unique.  Over my 30 years of experience, I have produced sculptures in Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, California, New York and central Texas.

Before settling down to raise a family in the Central Texas area in 1994, I grew up living in California, Texas, Belize and Guatemala, Central America.  As a youth I lived in New York City in my early twenties for three years.  Living in many different and diverse locations and always having my hand in art in one way or another, I have been self-taught in my own technique and skills, and have developed a method that is different and makes my three dimensional art easy to understand and interpret.  I have been able to produce many styles and subjects that reflect my life experiences and memories. Working in my father’s art studio since the age of 10, this has also had a great influence on me growing up.

All of my works are distinctive and original.  From the oddly curious, to the industrial intense symbolism, the range of topics that comes through my inspirations are without boundaries.  Using black iron metal and acrylic paints, the images that spring from my mind and into my approaches reflect amazing workmanship and creativity.

I practice and am proficient in many mediums, however, I prefer 3-D metal sculptures.  My materials vary from black iron steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminum, which I hand cut, grind, hammer and weld.  What makes my artwork so unique is that each is an original design with no templates or patterns ever used. Some subjects may be revisited, but each piece is a one of a kind, masterfully designed work of custom art.
