Painting of Running Horses

My work interprets Western imagery through the lens of color, movement, and cultural memory. I was born in Peru and raised in South Florida, and I now live and work in Texas, where the landscape, wildlife, landmarks, and symbolism of the American West serve as central inspiration in my practice.

Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, I combine expressive brushwork with elements of realism to explore ideas of strength, protection, identity, and belonging. Horses, birds of prey, Western figures, and recognizable Texas landmarks appear in my paintings not only as subjects but as visual metaphors for resilience and human connection to place.

My paintings are defined by luminous color relationships and layered surfaces that balance structure with spontaneity. Inspired by the dramatic light, architecture, and expansive skies of Texas, I build compositions that feel both contemporary and timeless, bridging personal narrative with regional tradition.

Through Contemporary Western Expressionism, I aim to honor the visual heritage of Texas and the American West while reinterpreting it through my individual and multicultural perspective.
