About the artist…

I have been around and worked with cameras most of my life, yet have never been a professional photographer (made a living with photography). Growing up, my mother had her Kodak Brownie and recorded all family events. In college, I was able to afford a Kodak Instamatic and documented life then, most of which has never been shown (for the safety of others).

I’ve carried a camera to many places and countries as I was working, grabbing any time off I could to explore and shoot. This was in the film era and I shot with Nikon equipment. I had a darkroom and became somewhat proficient in developing and printing. Then, as sometimes happens, life got in the way for a number of years and the camera sat in a closet a lot. I became active again when the digital era started up. I carried a small point and shoot almost everywhere. Nobody was safe from my photographic eye. Slowly moving up to a full frame DSLR, I’ve expanded greatly in style and what I shoot. Unfortunately, I now carry a lot more gear around with me.

Since I’ve retired, I’ve been seriously studying photography, shooting techniques, post processing and soon printing. I so enjoy that I’m able to follow my dreams, travel where I want and shoot what means so much to me. I don’t have the personality to handle photographic “jobs”, where someone else dictates what I shoot and the pressure of having to pay the bills. I enjoy time with other artist friends, painters and sculptors, as well as photographers.

Now that I’ve started the next phase of my life, moving to San Marcos, TX, I look forward to new adventures and places to explore.
