About the artist…

Marti Swanson is an artisan who has worked in a variety of tactile media. She has always been curious and finds the path of learning and experimenting to be a continual source of creative inspiration. A Texas native, her childhood was immersed in the arts including fine art, music, and theatre. It was also spent on the banks of the Hill Country rivers where her love of nature, color and light began.

Marti has an educational background teaching geography, geology, and earth science as well as art. She has taught all ages from 5 – 65. Her approach to teaching is to explore and discover while having fun. Her reward is seeing the excitement in students as they challenge themselves and succeed.

Her discovery of felting and fiber arts brings together a melding of Marti’s passions from working with nature, sculpting and playing with color.
