About the artist…

Aaron Damon Porter is a third-generation fine artist and illustrator. He grew up drawing the prolific cast of characters from his imagination and spending hours with his father exploring the properties of different mediums. From finger drawings on fogged up mirrors, to sidewalk chalk, to his first painting class, everything held the potential for creative expression. This is a philosophy that has remained true for Aaron into adulthood.

His best-known collections are Menagerie, an ongoing series of wildlife portraits, and DiNOLA, his world of cartoon dinosaurs running amok in New Orleans. Whether cartooning or applying his classically trained chops to a room full of roosters, Aaron brings an element of whimsy to all he does.

After 14 years of showing his work as a Jackson Square Artist in the heart of the French Quarter, Aaron relocated to Austin, Texas in 2022 with his partner and three cats.
